ISS 2022-2025 Transformation Targets
Preparing the next 100 years, we want to consolidate our capacity to face unprecedented complex social challenges. ISS is working towards four key transformation targets which will be supported by strategic external communications and fundraising; 1) Introduce Artificial Intelligence to improve social work services, 2) Build a Knowledge and Research Platform, 3) Develop the network through training and 4) Measure social impact.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Social Work
AI technology and large language models will be used by ISS to bring crucial improvements to our current social work service delivery mechanisms.
Feeding from the digitalisation process and leveraging the organisational history of casework, AI helps to eliminate repetitive work, cut costs, free up time for caseworkers and allow them to remain focused on ISS beneficiaries.
Knowledge and Research Platform
The Knowledge and Research Platform will include 10 decades of experience from tens of thousands of cases supporting children and families.
2.2 million pages of ISS archives will be digitalised and integrated into the database. Research and publication capacity, in support of ISS advocacy in child protection and children’s rights, will expand exponentially.
The ISS Knowledge and Research Platform will be an open-source and multilingual system.
Online training
From 2024 onwards, ISS’ global online training system will become the standard; ISS members will be asked to participate in periodic training, refreshers and new training programs covering specialised topics. Through training, ISS aims to better contribute to the well-being of vulnerable children and families. By having a network that is more responsive to today’s challenges and by achieving higher standards of quality services, ISS will make even more impact on the lives of its beneficiaries.
Measuring social impact
ISS seeks to better quantify and qualify its social impact worldwide. Through the years, ISS has collected substantial data on the number of cases and beneficiaries of its interventions. Building upon past data and introducing Performance Indicators across the network, will enhance ISS capacity to measure its impact.
